About LeydenJar

LeydenJar is a high-tech company, developing pure silicone anodes for a lithium-ion battery that will change the world. We are proud that, here at LeydenJar, we:

• boost Li-ion battery energy density by 70% by using 10x thinner anodes
• improved cycle life to >450
• achieved fast charging to 60% in under 10 min!

We are currently still in an R&D phase, but we are ready to start the actual production of anode foil. LeydenJar Plant One will open in 2026.

About the job

As a Data Analyst/Data Systems Intern in the Si R&D Team, you will be responsible for completing end-to-end projects in data management, ingestion, visualization and analysis. Specifically, you will work closely with stakeholders in the Quality Control and Battery teams to define requirements, ensure orderly data collection, and implement dashboards in PowerBI to fulfill our internal users’ needs. You will report to the Senior Data Scientist.

Your primary location can be in Leiden or Eindhoven and it is acceptable to work remotely for one day a week. The duration of the internship would be a minimum of 6 months and must be required by your university.

Potential projects include designing and building an end-to-end system to manage product specifications and display production results, and completing a data pipeline to preprocess and visualize battery performance metrics. Relevant technologies include Azure cloud tooling (Azure Synapse, Data Factory), Python, Excel, and PowerBI.

About you:

• You are currently in the process of completing your Bachelor’s or Master’s studies in the Netherlands and are required to complete an internship as part of your studies. 
• You have prior experience or classwork in programming and/or data analysis, or a strong drive to learn.
• You have fluent English reading and writing skills.
• You have a strong sense of curiosity and enjoy identifying the root cause of problems.
• Bonus points for interest in the energy transition and novel battery technologies.
