What we do:

• We produce pure silicon anode rolls that fit seamlessly into existing battery cell manufacturing lines, enabling customers to make a quantum leap in performance or create entirely new product categories.

• Our initial focus is on consumer electronics, with automotive applications already in development.

• By leveraging semiconductor thin-film technology (plasma deposition) and scaling it to battery anodes, we’ve overcome the long-standing challenges of silicon in batteries, delivering durability and efficiency at scale.

To meet global demand, we’re scaling up:

• PlantOne in Eindhoven opens in 2026, producing anode rolls and validating our roll-to-roll production tools.

• PlantTwo, our large-scale production facility, will follow, establishing LeydenJar as a key player in the global battery market.

We are looking for an energetic Financial Controller to join our innovative and ambitious organization.

Your mission
This is a key position where you will be part of the finance team and you will support your colleagues to optimize all financial flows.

This role can be filled on a 32–36-hour per week basis

What you will do:

• Oversee daily accounting and treasury activities and lead the monthly-close process;

• Manage accounting manual, policies and ERP system settings (think of capitalization criteria, 3-way-match, revenue recognition, inventory, COGS);

• Ensure adaptation of financial controls and procedures and improve where needed;

• Prepare the consolidated financial statements (Dutch GAAP). lead audit procedures and ensure timely statutory filings;

• Contribute to manufacturing readiness and audit trail in ERP, MES and CMMS;

• Perform grant administration and assist with grant applications and -reports.

About you:

• You have over 5 years experience in financial accounting, control or audit

• You have an HBO, university or an accountancy certificate (RA is a big plus)

• You get energy from managing a high variety of activities, know how to prioritize well and meet your deadlines consistently

• You have a strong eye for detail, are discrete and able to work with sensitive data and information

• You have experience working with auditors and leading audit deliverables

• You are analytical, a great team player and willingly to learn

• You are data savvy and know your way around ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite experience is strongly preferred)

• You are fluent in English verbally as well as in writing.
