Job description
About LeydenJar
At LeydenJar Technologies, we’re on a mission to redefine the future of energy storage. Our goal is to become the world’s innovation leader in advanced battery anodes, empowering the next generation of batteries that drive progress.
Why does this matter? Because the world needs higher energy density batteries not just for better consumer electronics, but for electric vehicles, e-flight, and beyond. While the battery industry typically advances by only 3% per year, our breakthrough pure silicon anode technology delivers an improvement of up to 70%ma true game changer. Often called the “holy grail” of the battery industry, our technology unlocks new possibilities for electrification, sustainability, and resilience in global supply chains.
What we do:
We produce pure silicon anode rolls that fit seamlessly into existing battery cell manufacturing lines, enabling customers to make a quantum leap in performance or create entirely new product categories.
Our initial focus is on consumer electronics, with automotive applications already in development.
By leveraging semiconductor thin-film technology (plasma deposition) and scaling it to battery anodes, we’ve overcome the long-standing challenges of silicon in batteries, delivering durability and efficiency at scale.
To meet global demand, we’re scaling up:
PlantOne in Eindhoven opens in 2026, producing anode rolls and validating our roll-to-roll production tools.
PlantTwo, our large-scale production facility, will follow, establishing LeydenJar as a key player in the global battery market.
This is an enormous opportunity and an ambitious journey. It requires bold, creative, and diverse minds who share our passion for innovation and sustainability. At LeydenJar, we value different perspectives, inclusive collaboration, and gender equality because we know that diversity fuels breakthrough ideas.

LeydenJar Technologies is scaling rapidly and while doing so we are looking for a IT System Administrator to join us for 0.8 FTE (32hrs/week) in our mission to boost battery technology.

We're looking for someone with a proactive attitude, who is eager to take on challenges beyond the core job description, such as helping out with cybersecurity initiatives or supporting IT projects for our new factory. You are the go-to person for IT support, ensuring our team can work efficiently and securely as we scale.
In this role you will be responsible for:
IT Operations & Infrastructure Management
Manage and maintain our on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, including Azure resources, servers, and storage systems.
Monitor the health and performance of all IT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points) and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Perform regular backups of critical data and test restore procedures to ensure business continuity.
Apply security patches and updates to all network, server, and hardware in a timely manner.
Monitor network and server utilization to perform capacity planning and performance tuning.
Workspace & User Support
Provide first-line IT support to all employees, resolving technical issues efficiently.
Manage the complete lifecycle of user devices (laptops, mobile phones), including configuration, deployment, and implementing security policies via Mobile Device Management (MDM).
Administer our Microsoft 365 environment, managing user accounts, access control, and Conditional Access Policies.
Administer SharePoint, including application and item permissions, to structure and monitor resources.
Manage the full lifecycle of employee hardware and software, including setup for new employees (onboarding) and decommissioning for departing staff (offboarding).
Security & Process Improvement
Implement and manage endpoint security configurations, including anti-virus, anti-malware, and anti-encryption.
Conduct vulnerability scanning and coordinate patching to remediate identified security risks.
Develop and maintain clear documentation for IT systems, network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides.
Develop and conduct training sessions for new employees on IT systems, security best practices, and company policies.
Track and manage software licenses to ensure compliance and optimize costs.

You have hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure administration, network management, and endpoint security solutions.
You are mobile, possess a valid driver's license, and are capable of working at our locations in both Leiden and Eindhoven.
