Then hurry up and join our multi-national team of ambitious, innovative and entrepreneurial colleagues!

LeydenJar Technologies is scaling rapidly and while doing so we are looking for a IT System Administrator to join us for 0.8 FTE (32hrs/week) in our mission to boost battery technology.

About the job

As our IT System Administrator, you will be the cornerstone of our IT operations. You will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing our entire IT infrastructure, from user devices and cloud services to network and server management. This role requires a hands-on approach in a fast-paced, continuously changing organization where urgency is key. We're looking for someone with a proactive attitude, who is eager to take on challenges beyond the core job description, such as helping out with cybersecurity initiatives or supporting IT projects for our new factory. You are the go-to person for IT support, ensuring our team can work efficiently and securely as we scale.

In this role you will be responsible for:

IT Operations & Infrastructure Management

  • Manage and maintain our on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, including Azure resources, servers, and storage systems.

  • Monitor the health and performance of all IT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points) and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

  • Perform regular backups of critical data and test restore procedures to ensure business continuity.

  • Apply security patches and updates to all network, server, and hardware in a timely manner.

  • Monitor network and server utilization to perform capacity planning and performance tuning.

Workspace & User Support

  • Provide first-line IT support to all employees, resolving technical issues efficiently.

  • Manage the complete lifecycle of user devices (laptops, mobile phones), including configuration, deployment, and implementing security policies via Mobile Device Management (MDM).

  • Administer our Microsoft 365 environment, managing user accounts, access control, and Conditional Access Policies.

  • Administer SharePoint, including application and item permissions, to structure and monitor resources.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of employee hardware and software, including setup for new employees (onboarding) and decommissioning for departing staff (offboarding).

Security & Process Improvement

  • Implement and manage endpoint security configurations, including anti-virus, anti-malware, and anti-encryption.

  • Conduct vulnerability scanning and coordinate patching to remediate identified security risks.

  • Develop and maintain clear documentation for IT systems, network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides.

  • Develop and conduct training sessions for new employees on IT systems, security best practices, and company policies.

  • Track and manage software licenses to ensure compliance and optimize costs.

Job requirements

About you:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a similar field.

  • 3-5 years of work experience in a System Administrator or similar IT infrastructure role is preferred.

  • You have hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure administration, network management, and endpoint security solutions.

  • You are mobile, possess a valid driver's license, and are capable of working at our locations in both Leiden and Eindhoven.

  • You are capable of thinking big while doing small, setting future-proof standards that can support our rapid growth.

  • Customer Service Orientation – You respond promptly and effectively to user needs, ensuring a positive support experience.

  • Teamwork – You collaborate openly with colleagues to solve problems and achieve shared goals.

  • Problem Analysis – You identify root causes of technical issues and develop practical, long-term solutions.

  • Stress Tolerance – You maintain focus and performance under pressure, especially during system outages or incidents.

  • Career and Self Development – You actively seek opportunities to grow technical knowledge and stay current with evolving technologies.
