About LeydenJar

LeydenJar is a high-tech company, developing pure silicone anodes for a lithium-ion battery that will change the world. We are proud that, here at LeydenJar, we:

  • boost Li-ion battery energy density by 70% by using 10x thinner anodes

  • improved cycle life to >500

  • achieved fast charging to 60% in under 10 min!

We are currently still in an R&D phase, but we are ready to start the actual production of anode foil. LeydenJar Plant One will open in 2027.

About the job
Leydenjar is developing a production machine together with suppliers. The role of the system software architect is to lead the way in the software architecture development of our new machine and to guide/steer our suppliers to accomplish this milestone within the given time, budget and requested quality.

Some of your main responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the mechanical and the process engineers.

  • Work closely with the other system architect and system engineers.

  • Roll out the modular and future proof software architecture for the control of the production machine.

  • Work in close collaboration with external suppliers

  • Review work done by the software team from the supplier

  • Put together the requirements with help of the equipment, process and production engineers.

  • Maintain the Software Requirements Specifications (in Polarion)

  • Maintain Project Documentation

  • Maintain the knowledge inside Leydenjar to be able to support users after commissioning (training, troubleshooting, additional component development and fixes)

  • Collaborate with data scientists and IT department

Job requirements

About you:

  • You have min 5+ years of working experience in software development in a machine development environment in server-client architecture

  • You have experience in Data interface technologies: OPC UA , Profinet, RS485

  • You posses test driven development mindset

  • You have knowledge of Model Driven Development

  • Experience working with change management is a plus

  • Experience in commissioning processes e.g. FAT / SAT is an advantage

  • Familiarity with Supermodels, PLC programming and Siemens Edge devices is a plus

  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations (ISO IEC) is an advantage

  • You have flexible/adaptive mindset (able to adapt to changing circumstances)

  • You are pragmatic (able to set priorities based on limited information and act accordingly)

  • You are action oriented and result driven teamplayer

  • You have deep understanding of Software Development

  • You have excellent communication skills
